School of Shipping

School of Shipping is a TETA, ICC and SAMSA accredited training provider and aims to get you document-ready to prepare you for your role in the shipping, freight and logistics industries.

We aim to educate our students with a thorough foundation in terminology, theory and practise, and we will assist you as you evolve in your chosen path to help you develop your skills to the fullest. We are committed to cultivating a strong mindset of attention to detail and professionalism that is necessary for you to succeed in the workplace. Most of our learners are employed in the shipping industry and occasionally return to our school to attend refresher courses and workshops such as the updated Incoterms and IMDG courses which need to be completed every 2 to 4 years.

The South African training climate has evolved to provide modern developments in training methods such as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Learnership programs. Due to the skills shortages in the industry, many freight companies have chosen to implement the Learnership program offered by TETA. These companies screen potential learners for a One Year Learnership Program and place their learners in a full time position while they study. The program gives their learners the appropriate and professional industry knowledge to perform their duties efficiently and expertly and rewards them with a certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance.

Your training needs are important to us because we know how important your career is to you. We are able to guide you on the most cost effective and focussed route to getting you accredited and document-ready.
