About our Qualifications

Q1: Can I Study if I do not have a matric certificate?

Should a student be under 16 years of age and not have their matric certificate , we then offer the Edexcel UK International Edexcel BTEC Level 1 vocational qualifications which are equivalent to a S.A. Matric Certificate. This able any student that could be in a situation whereas he/she were not able to complete their matric, they can achieve a world class qualification with a matric exception or go straight into a specific career field, through us!
But if they are over the age of 16+ and do not have their matric, they will then complete our Level 2 qualification and then proceed into our Edexcel Level 3 Diplomas.
Edexcel BTEC Level 2 (S.A. equivalent NQF 4) is suitable for any student, aged 14+, who has completed Edexcel BTEC Level 1 or have completed their S.A. Grade 10.

Higher Education South Africa (HESA) accepts Edexcel International GCSEs, GCE A levels and BTEC vocational qualifications for entry into universities in South Africa.

HESA press release: “20 February 2013 BTEC – the alternative to an academic matric

Matric Exemption through a vocational route is now a possibility. Higher Education South Africa (HESA), have confirmed that a student can achieve a foreign matric exemption by completing a BTEC National Diploma and English Language International GCSE level (grading A-C).

This means that students can qualify for a foreign matric exemption by completing a vocational BTEC, instead of the more traditional academic route.

The 2012 university exemption results saw only 26.6% of matriculants achieving a university exemption. This leaves many students with limited post-school options.

The confirmation this week by HESA enables students to follow a vocational curriculum and still qualify for exemption.

A BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work related qualification. It equips a student with the skills required within a specific work function.

Therefore, once a student completes a BTEC National Diploma and English Language qualification (grading A-C), they will achieve a South African foreign matric exemption, as well as an international Edexcel qualification, in addition to gaining the skills necessary to find a job”.

Q2:I HAVE MY MATRIC- What qualifications can I study?

A student with a matric certificate can receive an Edexcel BTEC Award, Certificate or Diploma Level 3.

Edexcel BTEC Level 3 (S.A. equivalent NQF 5), is suitable for any student, aged 16+, who has completed the Edexcel BTEC Level 2 qualification or have completed their S.A. Grade 12.
